Pretty Kitties!

The Sept. 12-13 Cat Fanciers Association Cat Show held at Ella Grasso Technical School in Groton was a feast for the eyes of any cat lover. Sponsored by the Damn Yankees Cat Club, the annual event attracted 165 entrants. According to entry clerk Nancy Jenkins, that was complemented by a good gate and lots of good vendors.
Judges included Annette Willson (shown judging a lively Persian kitten), Larry Adlison, Chuck Gradowski, Barbara Sumner, Walter Hutzler and Gary Veach.
Although a cat show may seem like a feline beauty contest, each cat is judged on a strict set of standards in All-Breed and Specialty (Longhair and Shorthair) classes.
Top kitten was a white Cornish Rex kitten, owned by Nancy Dodds, but all cats are winners in the eyes of those that exhibited them.
