Fidelco Walk for the Whole Family, Canine Included!

You and your family, and your canines are invited to join the 26th annual Fidelco Walk on May 19 to help bring increased freedom and independence to the visually impaired. From 8am to 2pm at Wickham Park in Manchester, join hundreds who will gather to sponsor Fidelco’s efforts of training seeing eye guide dogs.
This event, free of charge, is in its 26th year. The rain or shine walk will offer a great outing for the whole family, canines included. All dogs, of all breeds, are welcome to attend, but must be on a leash and under control at all times.
The walk is from 9am to 11am, although the routes are available from 8am-2pm for those early birds and late beginners. There are two walk routes available, 1/2 mile walk and another 1-1/4 mile walk. Water tables are available on all routes. Walkers can choose to join or start a team. For those who are unable to walk, consider sponsoring a walker.
Many events and entertainment will be going on throughout the day. From Fidelco foster, guide dog and CT State Police demonstrations to photo contests, doggie bar, silent auction and raffle as well as a kids camp. You can even schedule an appointment for the microchip clinic or get a walk-in appointment. But don’t forget the live entertainment, 95-South, and food vendors. Stay the day! All proceeds benefit Fidelco.
Charles H. Kamon founded the Fidelco Guide dog Foundation in 1960. His dream was to provide people with visual disabilities with the highest quality guide dogs possible. Although Fidelco still sees themselves as a dream in progress they have grown considerably. They are in 33 states and Canada, and are considered an industry leader.
Fidelco breeds and trains German Shepherd Dogs. Employees as well as volunteers put their efforts towards the care and socialization of the puppies from a few weeks after they are born to the foster families that raise the dogs until they can be trained. The love and training given to the dogs makes them the best guide dogs they can be.
Fidelco relies solely on the gifts and generosity of donations from organizations, companies and individuals who become members of the Fidelco family in helping them "Share the Vision."
By spending a fun filled day at Wickham Park in Manchester on May 19 you support the Fidelco efforts.
